Summer is a time when many families get together, making it an ideal opportunity to discuss important matters, including your financial future. With that in mind, we wanted to make you aware of something we've found to be valuable to many of our clients: the “family meeting.” At a family meeting, our clients typically invite family members to join us for a high-level overview of what we are doing for you. Sometimes we answer their questions about our investment approach and your key goals, and sometimes we talk about estate management issues. We always suggest a review of where your important documents are kept. We also make ourselves available to everyone so they know they can come to us for anything—and that we are there for them. Sometimes your family members are ready to begin a relationship with us or to have us evaluate their existing financial strategy. We welcome that. Others simply appreciate knowing that their personal finance matters are being monitored and enjoy meeting the people they have entrusted to manage their overall approach. We believe that family meetings are valuable; in fact, many of our clients make them annual events. Over the years, we’ve seen them deepen relationships, encourage communication, help address conflicts, and lay the groundwork for resolving disputes down the road. As your family gathers this summer, consider the benefits of bringing everyone together to discuss your financial strategy and goals. If you are interested, please let us know, and we can work on setting something up, either virtually or in person. As always, thank you for your trust. Best, |
